Monday, June 16th to Monday, June 23rd The Synagogue will host an installation by the work of Haniote artist, Velli Vandulaki, currently living in Vienna. Her work is inspired by the tragedy that took place with the sinking of the Tanais, and it’s victims. Her art will be displayed in the Synagogue accompanied by the musical composition “Die Niemandrose” by Mixali Lapidaki, and is open to the public. Wednesday, June 18th at 20:00 We are happy to welcome back the group “Me La Amargates tu” from The Hague. Following their well received concert to a full house in the Synagogue last year, they will perform Medieval Sephardic music, this time with the full six piece ensemble. Entrance by donation. Sunday, June 22nd at 20:00 We will hold our annual memorial service for the members of the Jewish community of Hania that were lost on the Tanais in 1944. The service will begin at 20:00 and will include the reading of the names of the victims as well as the lighting of candles for each one. We hope that you will join us in commemorating this solemn occasion.
