Etz Hayyim Library

The Synagogue has a resource library that is in the process of being added to constantly.

The main concentration is on Jewish Spirituality, History and Modern Jewish movements. At the moment we have both the Talmud and Zohar on CD as well as complete edition of the latter. As the purchase of a complete Talmud is impossible for us at the moment we are adding volumes to it when available. We were recently given a Mishneh as well as Rashi.

Library sections

There is an important collection...
There are several commentaries on the siddur and mahzor as well as a number of classic works in Kabbala.

Jewish history in the antique period (Greco-Roman) is an important section in the library as is the history of Greek Jewry in its many forms - Romaniot and Sephardi as well as more regional aspects - Crete, Salonika etc.

There is an important collection of resource material on both Christianity and Islam. Many of these are classic texts - but there is also much on the interaction or confrontation of Judaism, Christianity and Islam. There is a special section dealing with the Shoah in general and Greece in specific.
